FAQ
Napkin Dispenser Advertising FAQ
Napkin dispenser advertising FAQ for advertisers and restaurant owners: what it is, what it costs, who sees it, how exclusivity works, how to track calls and how the free dispenser program runs.
What is napkin dispenser advertising?
Napkin dispenser advertising is a printed ad card placed in the window of a tabletop napkin dispenser at a restaurant. Every guest at that table sees it for the length of the meal, at every meal, for as long as the card runs.
How does Next Bite Media work?
We give restaurants free napkin dispensers and a starter supply of napkins. In exchange, the dispenser windows carry ad cards from local businesses. Advertisers pay a flat monthly fee to be in the restaurants they choose.
Who sees the ads?
People who live and work near the restaurant, most of them regulars. They're seated, waiting for food or finishing a meal, with the dispenser within arm's reach.
How many advertisers share a dispenser?
A small number, and never two from the same category in the same restaurant. If you're the dentist in that restaurant, you're the only dentist.
Can I choose the restaurants?
Yes. You pick from the restaurants in our network near your business or service area. We show you what's open in your category before you commit, and we add restaurants every month.
Who designs the ad?
We do, at no extra cost, and we send a proof before printing. You can also send a print-ready file. The card is 6.5 by 4.25 inches, landscape, on heavy stock.
How long is the minimum term?
Advertiser plans run for a minimum term so the ad has time to build recall, then continue month to month. Current terms are on the pricing page.
Can I change my ad?
Yes. Design changes are included on a schedule that depends on your plan. Seasonal swaps are common: a cooling offer in spring, a heating offer in fall.
How do I know my ad is up?
You get the list of restaurants carrying your card and photo check-ins from our route visits.
How do I track results?
Use a QR code, a dedicated phone number or an offer code that appears only on the napkin ad. Ask new customers how they heard about you and write it down.
Is it really free for restaurants?
Yes. Restaurants get dispensers and a starter supply of napkins at no cost and with no contract. They approve the advertisers shown in their space.
Will my restaurant show ads for other restaurants?
No. We never place ads for restaurants, food businesses, delivery apps or beverage brands inside host restaurants.
What areas do you serve?
We're launching across Los Angeles County and adding restaurants every month. Call or send the form to check your neighborhood.
What kinds of businesses advertise on napkin dispensers?
Local service businesses: realtors, dentists, insurance agents, contractors, auto shops, gyms, law firms, tutors and more. See the industries page for the full list.
Are the napkin dispensers really free?
Yes. Restaurants get tabletop dispensers and a starter supply of napkins at no cost and with no contract. After the starter supply, your staff refill with standard interfold dispenser napkins from your usual supplier, the same way you buy napkins today.
What's the catch?
The front window of each dispenser holds a small ad card from a local non-food business. Those advertisers pay us, and that's how the dispensers stay free for you. You approve every advertiser before a card goes on your tables.
Who approves the ads in my restaurant?
You do, or whoever you name, like a manager or the property operator. We show you the advertiser and the card proof first. Nothing goes in a dispenser at your location without a yes from you.
Can I have an ad removed?
Yes, any ad, any time, for any reason. Call or text (818) 383-6869. If you want it gone right away, slide the card out and keep it behind the counter, and we collect it on the next route visit.
Will the ads compete with my food?
No. We never place ads for restaurants, food businesses, delivery apps, or beverage brands. We also never place political, adult, alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis ads. The cards come from local services like dentists, auto shops, tutors, and realtors.
Who refills the napkins?
Your staff, the same way they refill any napkin holder now. It takes a couple of minutes during side work. We handle the ad cards, the window cleaning on route visits, and replacing anything damaged.
Which napkins fit the dispensers?
Standard interfold dispenser napkins, the kind sold for Xpressnap-style tabletop dispensers, folded to about 6.5 by 4.25 inches. We bring a starter supply and give you the exact refill so your supplier can match it.
What if I close, move, or remodel?
Tell us. There's no contract, so if you close or decide to stop, we pick up the dispensers. If you're remodeling, we can pull them and bring them back when you reopen, or adjust the count for the new layout.
How many dispensers will I get?
As many as your layout needs, usually one per table plus spots like the counter, register, or condiment station. We count the spots with you during a walk-through before installing anything.
Can I use the dispensers on my patio?
Yes. The housing is covered, so napkins stay put in the wind instead of blowing across the patio. If your patio stays out overnight, bring the dispensers in at close. Sun can fade cards over time, and we replace faded ones on route visits.
How do we clean them?
Wipe the housing and window with a damp cloth and mild cleaner when you wipe the table. Skip abrasive pads, which can scratch the clear window. We also clean every window on our route visits.
How soon after I sign up do the dispensers arrive?
We reply within one business day, then set up a short walk-through to count spots and confirm the dispenser model. Installation follows once the dispensers and your starter napkins are ready, on a day and time that stays clear of your rush.
Can I have dispensers on the counter only?
Yes. Some restaurants want dispensers only at the register, pickup counter, or condiment station and nothing on the tables. You pick the spots. We work with whatever layout suits your service.
What if a customer asks about an ad?
Point them to the card. Every card has the advertiser's phone number, website, or QR code. You're not responsible for the advertiser's business, and anyone with questions about the program can call us at (818) 383-6869.
Can the dispensers show my own specials?
They can. If you'd like, one window slot at your location can carry a card for your own specials or events instead of a sponsor. That slot is then held for you and not offered to advertisers. Ask us at the walk-through and we'll go over the details.
Do you serve food trucks?
Not yet. For now we work only with brick-and-mortar restaurants, cafes, bars, and dining rooms in Los Angeles County, where dispensers stay on fixed tables and we can make regular route visits.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. There's no contract for restaurants. You can ask us to remove an ad, change the number of dispensers, or pick everything up whenever you want.
Who checks on the dispensers?
We do, on regular route visits. Each visit we check every card, wipe the windows, swap any damaged or outdated cards, and take a photo for the advertiser. Visits are short and scheduled outside your busy hours.
