Refilling and Cleaning Your Napkin Dispenser
Refilling and cleaning your napkin dispenser takes a couple of minutes and fits into normal side work. Here's how to load napkins, keep the window clear, and reach us about a card.
Refill in under a minute
- 1
Check the clear face. If the stack looks low, refill before the rush, not during it.
- 2
Open the dispenser by its loading door. No tools needed.
- 3
Remove any crumpled or wet napkins left inside.
- 4
Load a fresh stack of interfold napkins, keeping the folds facing the same way.
- 5
Pull the first napkin through the slot so the next one sits ready.
- 6
Close the dispenser and make sure it snaps shut.
- 7
Wipe the housing and front window with a damp cloth and mild cleaner.
- 8
Set it back with the ad window facing the seat.
Napkins that fit and napkins that jam
Use standard interfold dispenser napkins in the size we give you at install, folded to about 6.5 by 4.25 inches. Your usual paper supplier will have them.
Regular folded lunch napkins, beverage napkins, and c-fold towels won't feed one at a time. They jam or come out in clumps.
How often to wipe the window
Wipe the window whenever you wipe the table. A quick pass with a damp cloth keeps grease and fingerprints off so the card stays readable.
Skip abrasive pads and harsh scrubbers. They scratch the clear face. We also clean every window on our route visits.
When a card gets wet, faded, or torn
Cards are printed on heavy stock, but a spilled drink or patio sun can still damage one. If that happens, leave it in place or set it aside and tell us.
We bring a replacement on the next route visit. You don't need to reprint or fix anything yourself.
Asking us to remove an ad card
You approve every advertiser, and you can ask for any card to come out at any time. Call or text (818) 383-6869 and tell us which one.
If you want it gone right away, slide it out and keep it behind the counter. We pick it up and update our records on the next visit.
Frequently asked questions
Who pays for refills after the starter napkins?
The restaurant buys refills, the same way you buy napkins now. The dispenser takes standard interfold dispenser napkins, and we tell you the exact size so your supplier can match it. The dispensers themselves stay free.
The napkins come out in clumps. What's wrong?
Usually the wrong napkin type or a stack loaded with folds facing different ways. Pull the stack, check that it's interfold, and reload it with the folds lined up. If it still clumps, call us and we'll take a look on the next visit.
Can we take the card out to clean behind it?
You can, but there's rarely a reason to. Wiping the outside of the window is enough day to day. We clean behind the window and reseat cards during route visits.
