Napkin Dispenser Ads for Dentists
Napkin dispenser ads for dentists put a new-patient offer in front of people who eat a few blocks from your office, while they're sitting still with nothing else to read. You pick the restaurants, we design and install the card, and no other dentist shares that dispenser.
The Patients Already Eating on Your Block
People tend to pick a dentist they can reach on a lunch break or between school drop-off and work. The lunch crowd at a counter-service spot near your office is made up of exactly those people: workers from the buildings around you, parents between errands, retirees who eat at the same diner every Tuesday.
A napkin card sits in their line of sight for a whole meal. They pull a napkin, notice your office is two blocks over, and the next time a crown cracks or a kid needs a first visit, your name is already familiar.
When Insurance Benefits Reset and Expire
Many dental PPO plans run on the calendar year, so unused cleanings and treatment benefits often lapse at the end of December. That makes the fall a natural window for a card that says, plainly, use your benefits before they reset.
January brings the opposite message: fresh annual maximums and patients who put off treatment last year. Swapping between those two cards keeps the ad current without changing the offer every month.
- Fall: use your remaining benefits before year end
- January: new benefits, book your cleaning
- Late summer: back-to-school checkups for kids
What California Dental Ad Rules Mean for the Card
California's dental board and state business code take advertising seriously. Generally, a free or discounted exam needs its terms spelled out, and words like specialist are limited to dentists with recognized specialty credentials.
We lay out the card so the fine print fits, but the wording is yours to approve. Many offices run the proof past their own compliance contact or a dental association resource before it prints.
Counting New Patients From One Napkin
Your front desk already asks how new patients heard about you. Add a napkin at a restaurant as a choice on your intake form and most of the tracking is done.
For a cleaner read, print a QR code that lands on a booking page only the card uses, or an offer name like Table Exam that callers mention. Compare that count against what one new patient is worth to your practice over a few years of recalls.
A note on advertising rules for dentists
California's dental advertising rules generally require clear terms on free or discounted offers and limit specialty claims to recognized specialists. Check the card against Dental Board of California guidance or with your own counsel before approving the proof.
You approve every proof, so you stay in control of what goes to print.

Questions dentists ask us
Can a dental office advertise a free exam on a napkin card?
Many offices do, but California rules generally expect the terms of a free or discounted offer to be clear, such as who qualifies and whether X-rays are included. We leave room for that line on the card, and you approve the final wording before anything prints.
Will another dentist be on the same dispenser?
No. We place one advertiser per category per restaurant, so a dispenser carrying your card won't carry a second dentist. The restaurant owner also approves every advertiser, so you're never surprised by who shares the table with you.
How many restaurants should a dental practice start with?
Start with the places your patients already pass: lunch spots near the office and a family restaurant or two nearby. The Neighborhood plan covers five restaurants, which suits a single-location practice. Area Takeover covers fifteen, for groups pulling from a wider radius.
Is a napkin ad safe under HIPAA for a dental office?
The card carries no patient information, so it works like any sign or postcard. The care point is the landing page: if your QR code opens a form that asks about health history, make sure it runs on a system your office already uses for protected information.
